So much for Bipartisanship

In a discussion with the folks over at Politico, Senator John Kerry(D) made it quite clear that he doesn’t care if Republican leaders want to discuss the Stimulus bill the Senate intends on passing or not.
Sen. John Kerry says Democrats should ignore Republicans’ demands about the stimulus plan if they’re going to vote against it [...]

Both of our Congressmen voted Nay to Massive Government Spending

Good news and bad news for those of us who believe in limited government spending. Both of our elected Congressmen for Northwest Florida have voted “No” on the Massive Pork Spending resolution H.R. 1
While this wasn’t a surprise coming from Congressman Jeff Miller(R), it does come as a slight surprise from Congressman Allen Boyd(D).
Congressman [...]

Thank you President Bush

I cannot help but think about all of the things that President Bush has done while everyone else is focused on President Obama’s speech.
While I didn’t always agree on the actions of President Bush, I do have to say that I think he was a good President. Not the absolute best, but not the [...]

Could taxes in Florida be on the verge of rising?

Even after some budgetary cuts, the Florida Legislature is still looking at ways to increase revenue. One of the only ways they can increase revenue is to increase taxes.
Florida’s threadbare state budget, now cut by more than $8-billion since July 2007, has Republican legislators talking about what until now was reviled as heresy: taxes. [...]

Watch your credit and debit cards closely.

Credit card and Debit card numbers are being stolen and used to drain accounts. This is happening just about everywhere in the use. Especially close to the holidays.

Will the Florida House bring up the School tax free holiday?

Sure it is in a pinch but the Florida government should also realize they are not the only ones feeling the pinch. Ordinary citizens are feeling that pinch as well.
Last year, everything looked good for the school sales tax holiday but it was dropped at the last minute because it was too “costly”.
Many people [...]

Jeb Bush not to run for Senator

I can’t say that I am surprised but I can say that I am disappointed that Florida Governor Jeb Bush decided not to run for the Senate.
“After thoughtful consideration, I have decided not to run for the United States Senate in 2010. – NRO
Though this does leave a large gaping hole that needs to be [...]
