Congressman Allen Boyd (D) to hold Townhall meetings on Healthcare during the Congressional Recess

Concern over the legislation H.R. 3200 is causing many Congressmen and Congresswomen to hold Townhall sessions to explain the legislation. Our Congressman Allen Boyd is no different in this.

Democrat Staff Writer Bill Cotterell over at the Florida Capital News reports on this as well.

Like many other members of Congress, U.S. Rep. Allen Boyd is spending much of the August recess listening to constituents about national health care and other big issues pending in Washington.

Starting next week, the Monticello Democrat has scheduled a 14-city tour of his sprawling Panhandle and Northwest Florida district. Constituents will have a chance to express their views and ask Boyd about state and national affairs.

This is great news. Though he is a little late in reporting this as it has been posted on Congressman Boyd’s government website for a while now.

Notice that the one in Panama City doesn’t have a location. The further west Congressman Boyd goes in his district the less friendly his constituents become towards his Democrat voting tendencies.

The fact that he is even holding townhall meetings on this issue is suggestive that he supports the legislation and feels the need to “explain” it to us so that we will understand why he supports it.

I have emailed Congressman Boyd on this but have not received a response to that email yet. I expect it will be one of the canned responses I usually get after the legislation is voted on.

If you have time, make sure you go voice your opinion. Either For or Against. It is the only way that Congressman Boyd will even remotely listen. Though I wouldn’t count on it.
