Congressman Allen Boyd(D) will vote Yes and doesn’t care what you think. UPDATE: Confirmed, Boyd Voted Yes
Congressman Allen Boyd(D) told reporters that he was “Seriously considering” voting for the reconciliation of the Health Care bill.
Both Boyd and Boccieri had reasons to talk. Boyd wanted to explain why he had voted earlier Monday against passing the reconciliation “fix†to the Senate bill out of the House Budget Committee, saying it was because it included provisions related to a change in how college loans are provided.
But Boyd said that if the final bill that he is asked to consider later this week meets his criteria for fiscal responsibility and other benchmarks, he will “seriously consider voting for this legislation.†– Daily Caller
This is in spite of what the people in his district really want him to do. Nearly 59 percent of respondents in District 2, Congressman Boyd’s District, are opposed to the bill. But that has never kept him for voting for legislation that he feels is right.
In an email I received from Congressman Boyd(D) he says he isn’t interested in passing a bill that isn’t Bipartisan and works for everyone, not just the uninsured. Yet that is exactly what this bill isn’t.
H.R. 3200, America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009, has been introduced in the House of Representatives. Unfortunately, I feel that this bill in its current form does not do nearly enough to wring out all of the savings within the current system, bend the cost curve, or ensure patient choice. On the cost savings side, we specifically need to address waste and abuse in the system, unnecessarily high administrative costs, over utilization, and costly overhead.
H.R. 3200 was initially placed in three House Committees of jurisdiction. The bill has since been passed out of the Ways and Means, Education and Labor, and Energy and Commerce Committees. While the House healthcare bill was passed out of the three committees of jurisdiction with various changes, the Blue Dogs and I were successful in postponing consideration of the healthcare bill by the full House, and we did this to make sure that the legislation would be given ample time to be debated and hopefully significantly improved. Many leaders involved in this debate have focused on timing and working to push this bill through the legislative process. That is the wrong approach and the wrong goal. I will not adhere to arbitrary timelines. My only benchmark is getting healthcare reform right. We need to continue working – however long it takes – to develop a reform bill that represents a sustainable, responsible, and bipartisan approach to mend our broken healthcare system for the benefit of everyone, not just the uninsured.
So we go from 1000 pages of a bill he can’t support to over 2000 pages he can support and we can expect that there isn’t any waste?
His consideration of this bill is especially confusing since he originally voted No on the bill.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t want him to vote Yes on this legislation. If he does, then maybe it is time for him to go.
He has already voted for other legislation that will hurt businesses and cause your taxes to increase but just haven’t made it though the Senate yet. Be assured that they will since Democrats have control.
Everyone needs to contact Congressman Boyd(D) and let him know that we will vote him out if he continues to defy the will of his constituents.

UPDATE
It is confirmed that Congressman Boyd Voted Yes on the bill. The very bill that he originally voted No on. Time for us to start working on letting him know how we feel about his votes against his constituents. There are a number of Republican candidates who are running against him this time around. I’ll be posting more on them here shortly.
