Connie Mack is Against an Arizona Like Immigration Law.
Connie Mack apparently can’t read. The Arizona law only requires police officers to enforce already existing Federal laws. Laws that the Federal Government wants local authorities to be able to enforce with training from the Federal Government. At this time, Arizona does not explicitly require local law enforcement to enforce the Federal laws.
So local Law enforcement can ignore them. As does ours. Charlie Morris was quite against it. See where he is. Our neighbors to the east of us in Bay county seem to have no problem with it.
With a law such as the one Arizona passed, local law enforcement cannot ignore Federal law.
Connie Mack needs to face reality. An overwhelming majority of Americans want the Federal and State Government to start enforcing laws that are already on the books instead of wasting time and money. They also want to stop spending money on illegal immigrants. And they also want to have jobs. Many of which illegal immigrants hold because they are cheap labor.
Until the Federal and State Governments are held accountable this will continue to be a big problem. Connie Mack just doesn’t understand this.
The bills to be introduced in Charlie Crists special session on Oil Drilling will have the same elements as the Arizona law.
The first bill would allow authorities to verify immigration status during a lawful stop. The second bill would require verification of immigration status before someone receives public assistance, such as disaster relief, preventative health care and services including soup kitchens and shelters. The third bill would allow the state to verify immigration status using e-verify before hiring anyone, which is currently not procedure, according to Ambler. Law enforcement officials also would gain access to e-verify systems, if the bill is approved. – NaplesNews.com
According to Connie Mack:
The law “strikes a severe blow to individual freedom and the principles that make our nation strong,†Mack said. “It puts some Americans at risk of losing their freedoms and having to prove their citizenship while others stand little or no chance of being affected.†– NaplesNews.com
No where in the proposed laws would Americans or legal Immigrants be affected.
Do you really want Connie Mack to be Governor?
