Crist needs to quit and support Rubio.

I’ve said it before, Charlie Crist would have been better off waiting for Senator Bill Nelson’s reelection before trying for the Senate. There is some speculation now as to whether this would indeed be better.

…then I’d dial up Rubio and offer him a deal. In return for me dropping out right now, endorsing him, and helping him fundraise, I’d ask for a commitment that he’ll help me beat Bill Nelson in 2012. That’s really the only way at this point that Crist can regain his standing among the base, whom he’ll need to have onboard for any shot at the Senate. – HotAir.com

I brought this up when Charlie Crist initinally announced his run for the Senate.

I still think that he would be a help to Democrats more so than Rubio ever will. You will never know where Charlie stands. Keep an eye on legislation that he signs and vetoes this year to see how he will help us at the federal level.

Crist continues to lose ground to Rubio in not only the polls but in fundraising.

Gov. Charlie Crist’s status as the golden boy of Florida political fund-raising is officially over: the governor’s U.S. Senate campaign just announced he raised $1.1 million for the three-month fundraising period that just ended.

While nothing to sneeze at, it pales in comparison to Marco Rubio’s $3.6 million gross for the same period. – Orlando Sentinel

It is time for Charlie to see reality. It is time for Charlie to drop his bid and put his weight behind Rubio. Let Rubio support him for Senator Bill Nelson’s Seat.
