District 4 Straw Poll has Craig Barker in the Lead
A straw poll conducted at a candidate forum yesterday has Craig Barker in the lead to replace the seat vacated by Ray Sansom. Matt Gaetz had about half the votes.
On March 9, 2010 the Fort Walton Beach Tea Party held a Candidate’s Forum for the Republican candidates vying to replace Ray Sansom as FL State Representative, District 4. A straw poll was conducted at the conclusion of the forum and the results are:
Craig Barker – 67
Matt Gaetz – 37
Kabe Woods – 22
Jerry Melvin – 15
Bill Garvie – 13
Undecided – 13
It was a great forum and all of the candidates did well. Some were pretty strong and others not so but overall there is a good line up of candidates.
It was obvious, though, that both Craig Barker and Matt Gaetz did well. If I had to pick a winner though, it would have to be Craig Barker.
