Florida School Tax Free Week for 2009 UPDATE: Alabama Tax Free Weekend 2009
Don’t count on it again this year. The Florida State Legislation decided not to include the School Tax Free week into this years budget.
But that’s alright. Your taxes will be going up to support the schools. Here in Okaloosa, the school board voted to increase the millage rate.
I suppose that is cheaper than the sales tax increase that some wanted. But it doesn’t make it any nicer when incomes are going down.
Oh well. Just have to see if they will come up with something for next year.

Just in case you are traveling to Alabama this weekend you may want to take advantage of their Tax Free weekend.
Beginning at 12:01 a.m. (CST) on Friday August 7, 2009, and ending at twelve midnight on Sunday August 9, 2009, Alabama will hold its fourth annual sales tax holiday giving shoppers the opportunity to purchase certain school supplies, computers, and clothing free of state sales or use tax. – ADOR
