Good News. Florida House approves School Tax Holiday this year.

Yep, that’s right. After not getting one last year, there will be a Tax holiday for school supplies in Florida.

The tax holiday, from Aug. 13-15, is shorter than the one lawmakers suspended in 2007. Supporters said the price tag is misleading, and that the move, backed by the Florida Retail Federation, will increase state revenues because it will generate $400 million in economic activity. – Florida Capital News

Of course this doesn’t do much for us here in Okaloosa with our early start to the school year. But it will help quite a few people who could use it. Maybe I won’t buy as much in Alabama this year.
