Kerry’s Joke

Once again, Sen. John Kerry has become the talk of the office near the water cooler.  You can’t pass an office door without someone discussing it.  At least you can’t where I work.  I won’t quote it since you have already heard it many times.  Including his insincere apology to no one in general.
Sen. Kerry is just offensive to the military man and woman.  Vetran or current service members are getting a good idea of what life would have been like for them if Sen. Kerry would have won the Election in 2004.  Thankfully, that didn’t happen.

The “botched” joke honestly didn’t seem like a joke aimed at the current administration.  It was a direct affront to anyone who served in the military.  Especially those who are currently serving in Iraq.  The news of his gaffe traveled quickly to Iraq as well as evidenced by this photograph found on Drudge Report.  The idea that he didn’t mean to offend service members is a much better joke.

Once this started appearing on the internet and in the mainstream media, Sen. Kerry attempted to claim it was a right wing conspiracy that caused him to botch the joke.  I’m not sure how President Bush pulled it off.  But it was a great plan if he really did.   Not only did he claim it was a conspiracy, he also refused to apologize to the men and women he called uneducated.

Sen. Kerry only apologized once forced into it by his fellow democrats.  He never would have accepted the fact that he offended many people in is attempt to joke about the action in Iraq.  Of course all of the cancellations of his speaking engagements by those who were hoping to gain his support probably had something to do with it as well.

Mr. Kerry, the military has far higher standards than they did when you joined.  Many of those who join do so with degrees or at least some college.  Quite a few join out of patriotism.  Others join to pay off the high cost of going to college since their parents couldn’t get them into Yale or Harvard.  Others joined to get a better education that they couldn’t pay for themselves.  Such skills and knowledge are highly desireable in outside employment.  I should know.

Before you continue with your diatribe against the republican party, you should choose your words more carefully and consider the possibility of alienating those you claim to be protecting.  Most of whom do not want to have anything to do with you.

If you are going to apologize, you may want to do so before you refuse to apologize.  Enough of your “Flip Flopping”.
Personally, I hope you run for president once again and become the Democratic nominee.  I’m sure we can elect a well grounded Republican if that were to happen.
