Obama just VP material?

It must really be disheartening to be compared to a Vice Presidential pick when you are running for President. There is a great comparison on Real Clear Politics about just this issue.

Democrats, between sniggers of derision and snorts of disgust, contend that Sarah Palin, John McCain’s vice-presidential pick is ridiculously unqualified to be president.

It’s a reasonable objection on its face except for this small objection: it surely needs to be weighed against the Democrats’ claim that their own candidate for president is self-evidently ready to assume the role of most powerful person on the planet.

Since the announcement of Governor Palin as Senator McCain’s running mate as Vice President there has been much talk about this negating the experience factor. Many Democrat analysts point out that Palin’s lack of experience being a deal killer. Ed Morrissey over at HotAir has more on this subject.

During the entire primary campaign, Obama kept telling voters that his judgment overruled his lack of experience. Now, suddenly, it doesn’t — but that puts Barack Obama at the same level as Sarah Palin, or even below, as Palin has the executive experience that Obama lacks. Moreover, Palin has spent her time in politics actually accomplishing reform and challenging the political machine in her own party. Did Obama do that?

And let’s not forget that Palin is running for the Vice Presidency. Obama, with his complete lack of the experience his campaign now suddenly believes is crucial for the job, wants to be President.

Funny. Last I looked Senator Obama was running for President. Maybe he is just Vice President material with a President material running mate shoring up his judgment and lack of experience.

I guess there are quite a few in the media who expect McCain to not be able to finish his term in office.
