During the Presidential campaign against Senator McCain (R), President Obama frequently blasted Senator McCain for his call to freeze spending. Obama often referred to spending freezes as using a hatchet to solve the problem where he would use a scalpel to cut the deficit. Naked Emperor News has a short video on this.

Now, you would think that President Obama would be getting the hint and not reverse himself but that is exactly what he is getting ready to do.

Under mounting pressure to rein in mammoth budget deficits, President Obama will propose in his State of the Union address a three-year freeze on federal funding that is not related to national security, a concession to public concern about government spending that could dramatically curtail Obama’s legislative ambitions. – Washington Post

Obviously, everything President Obama said on the campaign trail was “Nothing but words”. To use his own phrase.

It is impossible to cut spending and accomplish his “legislative ambitions.” Who in the world is he trying to fool? Oh, right. The democrats who still like him. Does he forget that Congress controls spending? Maybe he hopes that you have forgotten.

Well, here is a Hatchet Mr. President. Hope you can figure out how to use it because the scalpel you wielded obviously didn’t cut any fat from the Democrat pig. Perhaps a slew of Hatchet wielding Republicans in November will do a much better job.
