President Obama to address the Nation about Iraq.

I still don’t think that the entire Iraq invasion was a good thing or a complete success. We are actually leaving way too early. Mostly because Democrats have pushed it. The chief Democrat to push it was President Obama. He had help though. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid both have hit Former President Bush hard on this subject.

Rumors have it President Obama is now ready to call it “Mission Accomplished”. He is probably going to take credit for the success of military operations in Iraq and the draw down of the troops. Both of which were actually orchestrated by the Bush Administration.

Here is an advertisement that is slated to hit the airwaves if he does indeed do what is rumored.

Ed Morrisey over at Hot Air had this to say about the video.

Obama does deserve credit, as I wrote earlier, for not snatching defeat from the jaws of victory by implementing his oft-proposed accelerated pullout once in office. In fact, Bush handed Obama a turnkey plan for this drawdown, including the substantial force that still remains in Iraq of almost 50,000 “advisers.” Instead of having all American troops out in 16 months, Obama instead settled for the Bush plan of having American troops out of the cities and out of offensive operations, with a large troop presence to help Baghdad maintain order.

I don’t agree with Ed on this. I believe that President Obama really had no choice. Once he came into office, there wasn’t any way he could realistically do what he said. The military would still have taken as long as it had to draw down. It is impossible to move seven years of equipment in just 16 months. Not without focusing solely on the draw-down. Which would never have been allowed.

I do think that the Democrats will try to use this for the November elections though. They will claim the Victory that is rightfully the Republicans and Former President Bush’s.

Typical of Democrats.
