RNC Actions are absolutely pathetic.

The Republican National Committee spends some donation dollars at some questionable places.

While Steele has not purchased a plane, he continues to charter them. According to federal disclosure records, the RNC spent $17,514 on private aircraft in the month of February alone (as well as $12,691 on limousines during the same period). There are no readily identifiable private plane expenses for Democratic National Committee chairman Tim Kaine in the DNC’s last three months of filings.

The RNC explains that Steele charters jets only when commercial service is unavailable, or when his tight schedule requires it. “Anytime the chairman has taken any private travel has been a either to a route that doesn’t exist or because of connections and multiple travel to where he just wasn’t able to do so,” Heye said. Yet Steele’s office repeatedly refused to explain in specific terms the circumstances of the February charter flights.

Once on the ground, FEC filings suggest, Steele travels in style. A February RNC trip to California, for example, included a $9,099 stop at the Beverly Hills Hotel, $6,596 dropped at the nearby Four Seasons, and $1,620.71 spent [update: the amount is actually $1,946.25] at Voyeur West Hollywood, a bondage-themed nightclub featuring topless women dancers imitating lesbian sex. – HotAir

While Steele may not have actually been at the nightclub, these expenditures by the RNC are just down right out of line.

This is what is wrong with the Republican party at times. The arrogance that got many of them removed from office and lost Congress to the Democrats. This is also what has brought about the Tea Party Movement. People are fed up of politicians and lobbyists who squander their money. The RNC needs to learn this lesson quick if they are to remain a viable committee dedicated to helping elect Republicans to office.

There are calls to stop donating to the RNC. And I am inclined to agree. But I’d almost go a bit further and say to stop donating to any political party committee. If there is a person you like, donate directly to their campaign. Skip the middle man. Let your candidate have more of your money than they would have gotten without you giving it to the RNC.

There are also some Political Action Committees that probably more align with your interests as well. Give to them instead.

It is things like this that make Republican nominees lose elections. There needs to be a higher standard of Ethics. A standard of Ethics that the RNC just isn’t showing lately.
