State of Emergency declared for North West Florida
Not that I go to the beach much but it would make me very sad to see them temporarily ruined by this Oil rig accident. Governor Charlie Crist seems to be on top of everything by declaring a state of emergency for North West Florida.
Florida Gov. Charlie Crist has declared a state of emergency in several Panhandle coastal counties because of the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
Friday’s executive order covers Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton, Bay and Gulf Counties. – Breitbart
It would also affect tourism in the area. This would not be all that great either. Many jobs could be in jeopardy if that were to hit too hard.
Hopefully they will get a handle on it quickly instead of the 90 days that is currently predicted.
Even still, I do think that drilling in the Gulf is generally safe. There some apparent needs for improvements to keep this from happening again.
