Support an Executive Order
Many bloggers in the blogging community have been pushing for an Executive Order from President Bush to ignore the earmarks that congress has inserted into bills as legislative. Ed Morrissey from Captain’s Quarters has been on this idea since the military budget was passed a couple of weeks ago at the last minute.
Sources on the Hill tell some of us that a critical point has been reached at the White House on whether to issue an Executive Order that would prevent federal agencies from spending funds on 90% of the earmarks in the Omnibus Spending Bill.
I agree with the Executive Order idea. It is long over due. Congress is and will always spend more than the last session unless someone puts their foot down. It may take the President to do this.
If you want to participate in this. Here is what is suggested over at the Captain’s Quarters.
You can make a difference. Call 202-456-1111 and politely explain why the President should issue the EO, or e-mail the staff at comments@whitehouse.gov.
