Barak Obama has the audacity to criticize John McCain on fiscal conservatism. In a statement today Barak Obama pointed out the support that John McCain gave to the tax cuts implemented by President Bush.

“If John McCain’s policies were implemented, they would add $5.7 trillion to the national debt over the next decade. That isn’t fiscal conservatism, that’s what George Bush has done over the last eight years,” Obama said. – Rueters

This is just a bit of slight of hand played by Barak Obama to conceal the truth. The truth is that the majority of congress approved these tax cuts. They have helped quite a few people. And the biggest reason that there were approved and not vetoed were because Bush wanted the tax cuts.

While the tax cuts were passed. So were billions of dollars in pork barrel interests.

Barak Obama is no stranger to Pork Barrel spending. He spent over 300 million in tax payer dollars on projects that benefit few. And these earmarks are just the ones he disclosed. Who knows how many more are undisclosed.

While I’m sure that Barak Obama believes what he is saying, I can’t. His insistence that the tax cuts where the cause of the deficit are just ludicrous. If you implement tax cuts, you must also limit spending. Something for which the Democrat controlled congress continues to refuse to do. In fact, Obama hasn’t voted for any measure that has helped the deficit.

His health care proposal would just be an additional tax. The tax cuts would expire at a time of economic down turn. Barak Obama also proposes giving everyone a tax rebate of sorts.

“Let’s provide every family that’s making $75,000, $50,000, $30,000, let’s provide them an offset on their payroll tax of about $1,000 per family,” said Obama. – ABC News

Does he think that this will not increase the deficit? Increasing the deficit one of the complaints about the current tax rebate. Many of the people making below $75k a year, as a family, do not even pay taxes. If they have children, they are probably getting money from the government already.

I guess this is the way he buys your vote. Give money through earmark spending to the special interests so they will give you campaign dollars. Promise people $1000 if they vote for you and they will. Spend money like it isn’t yours. Tax people like their money belongs to you.
