An overwhelming Majority of Americans want our Government to do its job in securing this nations borders. They also want them to secure the borders before Congress passes any new legislation regarding Immigration. So why is it that the current members of the Democrat controlled Congress and President Obama insist on a comprehensive Immigration Reform complete with Amnesty before they will enforce the laws of our Nation?

President Obama gave a speech just the other day on Immigration. His first since taking office. Of course it was much like any other campaign speech he has given since he was elected. Vapid and without any action or direction. It is just words. Nothing more, nothing less.

Unfortunately Reform has been held hostage to political posturing an special interest wrangling. and to the pervasive sentiment in Washington that tackling such a thorny and emotional issue is inherintly bad politics… Our task is to make our National Laws actually work… Has a threshold responsibility to secure our Borders. – President Obama

President Obama used this speech to bash Republicans. Implying that Republicans are standing in the way of Immigration reform. Yet, Democrats have yet to show they want to work in a Bipartisan manner.

The fact is, Republicans want to do Immigration Reform in small steps rather than comprehensive reform. We have seen what comprehensive Health Care reform has started doing and we really don’t like it. Passing a Bill that until it passes you don’t know what is in it is absolutely ridiculous.

There are already many laws on the books for Immigration. Many deal with the issue of illegal immigration. However, this administration, as with the past administrations, refuses to enforce the current laws.

Sure, we can have more immigration. Sure we can make it easier for those who want to come to the United States to become citizens and gain the privileged of being an American. But why do we, and those who have followed the rules to come here legally, have to endure and support those who have come here illegally?

President Obama, Congress, Secure our Borders first. Then find all of the laws currently on the books and enforce them. Only then can we discuss Bipartisan Immigration Reform. Americans want it. You are not providing it.
